Coast Guard Investigating Hoax Calls

The U.S. Coast Guard says it's investigating possible hoax distress calls made near Narragansett Bay that prompted four fruitless hours of searching.

Coast Guard personnel in Woods Hole received several mayday calls Thursday evening that gave no location or description of trouble. The calls were traced to Mount Hope Bay and the Providence River area.
