A brawl during Sunday night's football game in Manchester, N.H. between the Whaling City Clippers and the New Hampshire Wolfpack saw Clippers player Brian Fernandes hit repeatedly in the head with a football helmet.

Clippers coach and owner George Duarte went on WBSM's Phil Paleologos on Tuesday and said that Fernandes body was dragged down the field and fought over by members of the rival Wolfpack team.

"They were fighting over him, this is what took our coaches to try to get the guys away from him," said Duarte "he had a seizure right there on the scene, we had to try and treat him as best we could."

Wolfpack personell didn't respond to their requests for medical assistance putting fernandes in great danger.

"We asked repeatedly, to the coach of the team, we looked him right in the eyes and said 'please can you get us a medic', my wife was screaming for an ambulance," said Duarte "it was only once the police got there, and that took 10, 15 minutes...that we got a formal EMT to show up in an ambulance."

Duarte says fernandes suffered from symptoms of concussion and one point suffered a seizure on the field.

The Wolfpack player accused in the assault, identified as 26-year-old Michael Vinagro, was charged with assault in the second degree.

Both teams had games suspended for this week.
