City Worker Injured In Chain Saw Accident

A New Bedford city employee is being treated at Rhode Island Hospital after suffering a large cut to his shin.

Det. Captain Steve Vicente tells WBSM News, the 55 year old D-P-I employee was working with a tree-trimming crew near the Buttonwood Park Warming House when he was cut with a chain saw.

D-P-I Commissioner Ron Labelle says the wound is not considered life threatening, but no other information is being released.
