New Bedford Salutes Sponsors For City New Year’s Eve Celebration

Mayor Jon Mitchell is honoring the community partners that are helping to make New Bedford's New Year's Eve celebration come alive.  During a news conference at City Hall, Bristol County Savings Bank and Southcoast Health System were announced as the major sponsors.  Bank President Pat Murray attended "City Celebrates New Year's Eve" last year, and wanted to get involved this year in the big way....

The bank is donating $15,000 for the fireworks display at Custom House Square starting at 8:30pm on December 31. Southcoast Health System is donating $3,000.  The event starts at 4pm at City Hall with greetings from the Mayor and performances by Miss New Bedford, the Showstoppers and the UMass Steel Drum Ensemble.  There's also free entertainment throughout the Downtown.
