A New Bedford city employee has lost his job after being charged by police with being one of three men who robbed a phone store last Saturday.

Brandon Medeiros was arrested Tuesday at the City Yard, and was taken immediately to District Court for arraignment. He was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail. Mayoral Chief of Staff Neil Mello tells WBSM News, Medeiros was dismissed from his city job on Wednesday.

Police have obtained warrents for two other suspects, Brandon's brother, Jacob Medeiros and Jerome Douglas, both of New Bedford. Police say three men held up the Boost Mobile Phone Store on Rockdale Avenue late Saturday, getting away with phones and cash.. One of the men was armed with the knife. Police say the store owner was beaten and slashed on the arm and back during a struggle with the suspects. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Detectives at 508 991-6300, ext 123.
