City Council Hardly Dents Mayor’s Budget

Mayor Jon Mitchell's $287 million budget remains pretty much intact, following the City Council's budget cutting session Tuesday night.

Councilors had submitted 89 proposed cuts, but only six cuts were given favorable votes.

Councilor At Large LInda Morad was unsuccessful in her attempt to eliminate the Chief of Staff position in the Mayor's Office.  Morad told WBSM News, she wanted to send a message.....

Morad's attempt to eliminate Neil Mello's position was voted down, 8-3.

In all, the Council cut just $394,000 from the Mayor's budget. Chief Financial Officer Ari Sky said "there may be some impacts, but we'll make it work".
