Circulating Petition Could Recall Council Pay Raises
Next year, New Bedford voters may be able to decide the fate of the self-approved 44% City Council pay raises. That outcome hinges on a petition being circulated by the President of the Minority Action Coalition, Charles Carmo.
If Carmo collects enough signatures, New Bedford residents would be able to have the final word on the council raises in November 2013. Carmo says residents should be lining up to sign the petition.

Carmo needs 6,700 signatures to get the question on the ballot.
