Every inmate involved in the "Christmas Chorus" at the Dartmouth House of Correction, say they loved working together to create something that gave themselves and others some happiness.

About 20 female inmates took part, rehearsing Christmas carols and other songs for two months.

And the end of Thursday's performance, other inmates and staff members gave the performers a standing ovation.  Inmate Tanya DeMello of New Bedford says the reaction meant a lot.....

Shannon Smith of Fall River joined the chorus for the second year in a row....

Jail officials say the program teaches inmates to be accountable, strive for a common goal, and work together as a team.
