When the New England Patriots take on the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead Stadium, their defense will be tasked with stopping a high powered offense led by Chiefs QB Alex Smith.

More importantly, Patriots QB Tom Brady and the offensive line will have to step up their play to give Brady the protection and time he needs to complete passes to wide receivers Julian Edelman and tight end Rob Gronkowski. If the Patriots can establish a strong running game by winning more battles at the line of scrimmage and keep the Chiefs off balance, they could end up winning their third game. If the offensive line falters the way it has thus far this season, it could be a long night for Brady and co.

Patriots.com reported this week the Patriots players on both sides of the ball know they have to play better if they hope to live up their promise as one of the perennial top teams in the AFC.
