The debate over Charter Schools in New Bedford is raging. Opponents claim they take valuable dollars from the budget of New Bedford Public Schools. Backers of Charter Schools say they do a better job of educating children. On this week's Townsquare Sunday program, New Bedford Superintendent Thomas Anderson offers his perspective on the controversy, and the community inroads he's made in his first year as Superintendent.

Townsquare Sunday with Jim Phillips can be heard each Sunday at 6 a.m. on WBSM 1420 and WBSM.com. Townsquare Sunday is a weekly public affairs program highlighting non-profits and community organizations in the Greater New Bedford area.

If you have a public event, festival, or neighborhood activity you want to publicize, submit your information here. You can also send an e-mail to Jim Phillips at jim.phillips@townsquaremedia.com. This program can also be heard by downloading the WBSM app.
