The country's oldest commercial ship will be docking in New Bedford in just over a month.

On Wednesday, Mayor Jon Mitchell and the Whaling Museum honored three private organizations that have helped make this homecoming event happen. BayCoast Bank, Bristol County Savings Bank, and Nye Lubricants each donated $50,000 to the event.

Mayor Mitchell says the return of the Charles W. Morgan will begin a new path to a brighter future for the city and the water front...

The ship will leave Mystic Seaport this Saturday and will dock at State Pier on June 28th. Dozens of events are planned during the Morgan's week long stay.

The ship will depart from New Bedford Harbor on July 6th and head to the Cape.
