The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce and other Chambers in the region are working to restore state funding to market attractions in Bristol County, like the Whaling Museum and Battleship Cove.  New Bedford Chamber President Roy Nascimento says the Southeastern Mass. Convention and Visitors Bureau has been inactive in recent years for a variety of reasons.  At one time the agency's Regional Tourism Council received $500,000 in state funding to market the region.  Right now the agency receives nothing, and Nascimento tells WBSM News, the Chambers in Bristol County want to turn that around.....

Nascimento says Chamber leaders are working to convince state lawmakers and the Patrick Administration to fund the new arrangement.  He's hoping to get the program up and running by the start of the new fiscal year...July 1.
