The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall for chainsaws and air conditioners due to the risk of fire.

According to WPRI 12, both the Remington and Craftsman gasoline chainsaws are being recalled. The tools are both manufactured by the same company in China and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said the chainsaws can leak fuel, posing a fire hazard.

The Remington-branded chainsaws that are being recalled are powered by a two-cycle gasoline engine ranging in size from 42cc to 46cc and with either a 14-inch, 18-inch or 20-inch bar. The chainsaw’s housing is orange and black and Remington is printed on the side of the unit and on the bar. Chainsaws that are pat of this recall include the model numbers, RM4214, RM4218 and RM4620, and serial numbers 1K155XQ0198 through 1F076XQ0200.

The tools in question were manufactured between November 15, 2015 and June 7, 2016.

The chainsaws were sold at Bi-Mart, Farmer’s Furniture, Lowe’s, and Mid-States Distributing Co., along with other nationwide retailers.

Also, the chainsaws were sold online at Amazon.com and Lowes.com from February 2016 through July 2016 for a price range of $160 to $280.

"Consumers are urged to immediately stop using the recalled chainsaws and contact MTD Southwest’s Remington recall line for instructions on getting a free replacement chainsaw. Also, Craftsman-branded chainsaws that are powered by a two-cycle gasoline engine ranging in size from 42cc to 46cc and with either a 16-inch, 18-inch or 20-inch bar are being recalled. The chainsaw’s housing is red and black and Craftsman is printed on the side of the unit and on the bar. Chainsaws included in the recall have the model numbers 41AY427S799 316.38070, 41AY429S799 316.38090, 41AY462S799 316.38098 and 41AY469S799 316.38188, and serial numbers 1K155XQ0198 through 1F076XQ0200.

The tools in question were made between November 15, 2015 and June 7, 2016.

The Craftsman chainsaws were sold at Ace Hardware, Atwoods, Orchard Supply Hardware, and Sears.  They were also sold online at OSH.com and Sears.com from February 2016 through July 2016 for a price range of $160 to $280.

The last recalled item is three models of LG portable air conditioners.  According to the CPSC, the air conditioners can overheat and start a fire. The firm has received four reports of fires that have caused $380,000 in property damage. So far, no injuries have been reported.

The LG portable air conditioner recall involves about 466, 000 units. The three models affected are 7,000 and 8,000 BTU LG portable air conditioners including the model numbers LP0711WNR, LP0813WNR, and LP0814WNR. The air conditioners are tan/white with the LG logo on the front. They are about 30 inches tall, 12 inches wide, and 14 inches deep, with a weight of 50 pounds.

The air conditioners were sold at Home Depot and other stores in the United States from February 2011 through August 2016 for the price of $250 to $280.
