Center For Sustainable Fisheries Brings Campaign To New York

Former New Bedford Mayor Scott Lang and other members of the Center for Sustainable Fisheries visit Montauk, New York to build support in fishing communities for their plans to provide better science to federal regulators. 

Lang says he and Dr. Brian Rothschild met with about a dozen fishermen, and representatives of two fish-packing firms....

The Center is hoping to build support for changes in the federal law that will force regulators to consider the impacts on fishing families and communities before putting regulations on the books. 

Lang says more trips to port cities in New England, Southern Atlantic and the West Coast are already in the works.
