Woman Found Hanged At Providence Cemetery

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Police say a woman has been found hanged from a tree limb at a Providence cemetery.

The Providence Journal reports that Maj. David Lapatin, commander of the Police Department's investigative division, said police believe the death of the woman, whose body was found Monday, is a suicide.

But he says police are working on the case as if it were a criminal investigation.

The police are trying to identify the woman.

The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy and determine the cause and manner of death.
