Hard work has paid off for Abdel Nader.

After being selected by the Boston Celtics with the 58th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and winning the NBA Developmental League’s Rookie of the Year award with Boston’s D-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, last season, Nader has been given an NBA contract.

The C’s signed the Iowa State product to a four-year, $6 million deal, Friday, which has the forward poised to make the team’s 2017 regular season roster.

Nader averaged 21.3 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists over 40 games for the Red Claws last year.

He has also played well throughout Boston’s summer league play this year.
