As part of the NBA's push to move towards on-jersey advertising, the Boston Celtics have officially become the third team in the league to sign a contract for jersey sponsorship.

The C's will be partnering with General Electric, who's logo will find its way onto the left shoulder side of Boston's uniforms next season.

According to a Bloomberg report, the deal is worth about $7 million a year.

The deal appears to be a rather smart one for GE, as it is their first major move in the Boston area since officially moving its headquarters to the city from Connecticut last year.

According to the press release, the deal goes further than just a company logo on a jersey. GE is expected to connect with the team and help in data analytics, injury prevention and other areas.
