While it's highly unlikely that the Cleveland Cavaliers will look to ship disgruntled point guard Kyrie Irving to their Eastern Conference rivals, the Boston Celtics, the C's still put in a call.

According to ESPN's Zach Lowe, the Celtics made the "obligatory call" to the Cavs regarding the growing news that Irving has asked for a trade.

Though the Cavs and C's seem to be far from a dealing duo, Boston has plenty of interesting assets to offer up, so never say never.

Although rationalizing Cleveland helping out Boston is tough to do, it could happen. Regardless of a deal between the two getting done, any deal that sends Irving out of Cleveland would be a huge win for the C's.
