No team had ever done it; battled back from a three games to one deficit in the NBA Finals.

No team, that is, until the 2016 Cleveland Cavaliers.

With their backs against the wall and potentially the best team in the history, the 73-win Golden State Warriors, ready drop the dagger on them, the Cavs rattled off three straight wins to capture the city of Cleveland's first title in 52 years.

Cleveland's 92-89, Game 7 victory Sunday capped the historic run and was led by Ohio born and raised superstar Lebron James. On the night, the forward dropped just the third ever Game 7 triple-double in Finals history, scoring 27 points while snagging 11 rebounds and dishing out 11 assists.

James, who was unanimously named the Finals' MVP, also got help all series long from Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving, who nailed the game-winning 3-pointer over Golden State's Steph Curry with just under a minute left in regulation.

After over a half century of watching team's come close but never fully come through, Cleveland can finally feel what it's like to be a winner.
