One cat was killed after a Sunday afternoon fire in Somerset.

Fire officials tell NBC 10 that at around 5 p.m. the fire broke out in the garage of a Clearview Ave. home.

Officials say the fire was knocked down before it could spread too far into the house.

A family of four was able to escape the home without injury.

However, the house has been deemed unlivable and fire officials say the family is living with relatives for the time being.

The cause of that fire remains under investigation.

Mutual aid was provided by crews from Swansea and Dighton.
