Carl Crawford opened up the season on the disabled list after having surgery in January. Now, after getting back in January, he may be out again. Crawford is seeking surgery to repair a torn ligament in his elbow. So why isn't he just doing it? He doesn't want to disappoint his fellow players, management or the fans by sitting out the majority of the season.

Crawford had debated getting Tommy John surgery to repair the damage to his elbow, but knows that his team needs him on the field. His teammates and managers have said that they support his decision, either way.
