Acushnet police say the operator of a car suffered minor injuries after the vehicle he was driving struck the Dunkin Donuts on South Main Street early Sunday.

According to Sgt Chris Richmond, the car crossed South Main from Pope Street, rammed into some cement pillars at the front of the store and pushed in the lobby wall.

The driver was hurt and taken to St. Luke's Hospital, but  his injuries are not believed to be serious. No one else was injured.  Sgt. Richmond says the operator will be cited.
