An accident involving two cars Sunday afternoon in New Bedford sends an suv into another vehicle which plowed into a house on South First Street. It sent a pregnant woman who had been sitting inside the house to the hospital. The crash busted a large hole in the ground floor of the building and caused several bookshelves to fall near the pregnant women. Three bystanders helped lift the driver from the car, which was smoking and her passenger appeared unhurt.

The driver of the other car complained of whiplash and also went to the hospital. NSTAR shut off the gas to the home as a precaution.
