NEW BEDFORD - The New Bedford Fire Department made quick work of a car fire in the city's West End Tuesday night.

The fire was reported shortly after 8 p.m. outside of 203 Palmer Street, near the corner of Union and Palmer Streets. When firefighters arrived, the engine compartment of the small, four-door sedan was completely involved. The fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes.

No injuries were reported.
