Cape Wind is expected to place 130 wind turbines in Nantucket Sound once preparations are complete.

According to Capewind.org, the project is currently in the financing stage, but construction on the turbines will begin by the end of the year.

Among some of the most concerned about the project's impacts are fishermen. Jim Kendall of New Bedford Seafood Consulting tells WBSM's "Mid-Day Live" the turbines could pose navigational hazards to vessels headed out to George's Bank.

Kendall says that area is often blanketed with fog, and the turbines could interfere with radar systems as well.

Kendall adds while the South Terminal Maritime Project in New Vedford may have little impact on the fishing industry, he'd like representatives to be consulted as construction continues.
