BOSTON (AP) - The Memorial Day weekend also marks the new season for rail service to Cape Cod.

The Cape Flyer provides weekend passenger train service through Labor Day, starting at South Station, with stops in Braintree, Brockton, Middleborough/Lakeville, Wareham and Buzzards Bay before ending in Hyannis.

Sunday's trip was extra special as more than 150 veterans got a free ride all the way to the Cape on the new Fallen Heroes passenger coach for the 12th annual Troops in the Spotlight event in Hyannis.

The Cape Flyer offers onboard concessions, free Wi-Fi and wheelchair accessibility. Pets and bikes can be brought on board at no extra cost.

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority launched the summer rail service in 2013. It aims to reduce traffic and boost the Cape's economy.
