A Cape Cod man says he and other creators of technology used to remove contaminants from waterways are being shut out of the discussion over how to clean up New Bedford Harbor.  Scott Smith is president of Opflex Solutions, a firm that created a sponge-like foam to remove contaminents from the ocean.  Smith says the product received high marks in 2010 during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf, and has also been deployed in New York.  He explaned the process to the E-P-A back in February, but has yet to hear anything.

Smith has written the U-S Attorney General, saying there should be careful consideration of all available technologies, and New Bedford shouldn't have to settle for burying pcb's in the harbor and deferring problems to future generations.
