Can an Onion Help Prevent The Common Cold?

This morning my wife woke up and went in to check in on my daughter, when she walked into her room, she said to my daughter, “It smells like pizza in here”, my daughter replied “yea, I have an onion in here”, my wife, “onion, why?” daughter “to take my cold”.

Neither my wife or I have ever heard of such a thing! I know there are wives tales out there about doing certain odd things to make you feel better. I have heard that eating lots of garlic keeps you from catching a cold and same thing with lots of vitamin-c helps too, but onion. When Pete and I talked about this on the air this morning turns out it’s true that onions can be used to make you feel better! Here are some of the calls we took.
