We are spoiled on the Southcoast, we really are. We have some of the best restaurants around. The other day my friends suggested we head to 'Cafe Italia Ristorante' 6 Rockdale Ave. New Bedford. I couldn't wait to go, Cafe Italia is a cozy B.Y.O.B.restaurant in New Bedford's South End. We grabbed a couple of bottles of wine and headed over. We started with Mussels sauteed with fresh garlic served in a spicy tomato sauce, that are simply delicious! I also had a Fig Salad that they had as a special, the salad had a tasty rasperry vinegrette dressing over greens with fresh figs, I shared with everyone at the table and all agreed it was amazing. For dinner I went with the Veal Saltambocca with a side of veggies.

The veal was a great choice, perfectly cooked, tender and delicous. There were three pieces of veal on my plate, when I started I thought great I will have some to bring home for later, but I couldn't help myself and ate all three I was about to lick my plate it was so good. To top off a great meal I had to go with the Tiramisu which was also was amazing, others at the table had canoli's.

If you love authentic Italian food they a trip to Cafe Italia Ristorante is a must! Reservations are suggested as there is limited seating. It's nice to see a local family business doing well and making many Southcoast residents belly's full of amazing homemade authentic food.

Cafe Italia Ristorante is open Tuesday thru Saturday, closed Sunday and Monday, call (774) 202-6933 for a reservation.
