When death comes, there are places in the heart that we never knew existed. Such is the case for Captain Conrad "C3" Henri Roy III, an 18-years-old Mattapoisett man who passed away Sunday, July 13. Having graduated this past June from Old Rochester Regional High School with a 3.88 GPA, a scholarship fund is being established to honor his young and accomplished life.

A star athlete, "C3" had been accepted to Fitchburg State University. Following in the tradition of his grandfather, father and uncle at Tucker-Roy Marine Towing and Salvage, Conrad had a passion for the maritime industry.

God's finger touched Conrad and now his memory is being cherished with the Captain Conrad H. Roy III Scholarship, started by Northeast Maritime Institute. If the people we love are taken from us, the way to have them live on is to never stop loving them, and this scholarship will accomplish just that.

Online donation site will be coming soon. In the meantime, checks or money orders can be made payable to: Captain Conrad H. Roy III Scholarship Fund, c/o Northeast Maritime Institute, 32 Washington St., Fairhaven, Mass. 02719.
