Though it may take place at home, domestic violence can take a toll in the work environment as well.

Bristol County District Attorney Tom Quinn's office is hosting a seminar this week, informing employers of their rights, responsibilities, and liabilities when it comes to dealing with sensitive matters like domestic violence.

Executive Assistant to the DA, Ashley Bendiksen says violence at the home can translate to loss of productivity on the job, or even worse. "Unfortunately, at other times it can become more severe where there's actually liability issues where perhaps the company phone, or the incidents are taking place right at the workplace," Bendiksen states.

The seminar is being held Friday, May 29, 8:30am-12:30pm in the Grand Library Reading Room at UMass Dartmouth. A complimentary breakfast will be served.
