Some North Fairhaven streets were filled with walkers Saturday afternoon to remember a young community activist.

The third annual Katie Brienzo Memorial Walk drew over 100 walkers and many more supporters to raise money for individuals with developmental disabilities.

Brienzo's sister and walk organizer, Ashley Lentini, says the support is amazing.

The mile and a half walk raised an estimated $8,000 that will be used by M.O., L.I.F.E., Incorporated to take handicapped individuals on community trips.

Brienzo was killed in late 2011 while attempting to cross Sconticut Neck Road. The driver, Renee Andrews, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison earlier this summer.
