Brandon Woods Employees Protest Low Wages, Contract Delay

More than three dozen unionized workers and their supporters demonstrated outside the Brandon Woods Nursing Home on County Street Friday, demanding a fair contract proposal from their employer, Essex Group Management.  Albertina Furtado has worked at Brandon Woods for 19 years.  She describes herself as a loyal employee, but she tells WBSM News, a proposed 1% wage increase from company President Frank Romano is an insult.....

The members of SEIU Local 11-99 are also upset that Essex wants to cut back on training programs.
