There will be an additional series of lane closures beginning on the Braga Bridge starting Tuesday night.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation says they will close an additional lane on I-195 eastbound.

The closures will be in place until Thursday between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

Closures will also be in place Friday from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., then on Sunday from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

One Eastbound travel lane will remain open while the work is underway.

The two travel lanes on the westbound side of the bridge will remain in the current configuration.

During the day, two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions.

Drivers are being advised to seek alternate routes.

Motorists who travel through the affected area being told to expect delays, reduce speed and use caution while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

MassDOT officials say the closure is necessary to set a barrier between the middle and right lanes to establish a new work zone.
