Braga Bridge Lane Closure

There will be a lane closure on the Braga Bridge Wednesday night into Thursday morning.

Officials with the Massachusetts Department of Transportation say one lane will be closed on I-195 West.

The closure will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday and will be in effect until 5 a.m. Thursday.

Officials say one travel lane will remain open on the side where work is taking place, and the two travel lanes in the opposite direction will remain in their current configuration.

Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in both directions during the day.

Drivers are being encouraged to seek alternate routes but officials say those who must travel through the affected should expect delays and use caution and reduce speed while approaching and traveling through the work zone.

MassDOT officials say the lane closure is necessary so the annual inspection of the bridge can be performed.
