Great balls of fire! Life for many Patriots fans, since the AFC Championship game, has been like a ball and chain. I've been fielding on-air phone calls from listeners who are on the ball with their thoughts that ranged from someone in the Patriots organization dropping the ball with this controversy to calling Tom Brady a slime-ball. A question that came up early after the investigation began was why didn't someone keep a better eye  on the ball?

Then there were those two 'pressers,' the ho-hum press conferences that some say only served to get the team further behind the eight ball. Listeners commented to me that they thought the coach and Brady would have carried the ball better than they did, but instead, they dropped the ball.

Now, I don't have a crystal ball, but I do hope the nation can move past this so the two teams can play competitive ball in Glendale, Arizona on February 1. I also hope that spectators and viewers alike will have a ball watching the game! And as for the NFL coming up with any clear answers, well, that ball is in their court! Oops, wrong sport. Yeah, but that's the way the ball bounces!
