The U.S. Army has given Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl a desk job at a base in Texas, treating him again like a normal solider after the formal phase of his reintegration after being released from five years of captivity by the Taliban on May 31st has ended. An investigation is continuing into his disappearance, which will look into whether he walked away from his post in Afghanistan as has been charged.

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reported that Berghdal still has refused to see or speak to his parents. Officials said they don't know the cause of the tension between them or when it began.
