If the Boston Red Sox are able to win the World Series at Fenway Park, police and city officials want to make sure fans celebrate responsibly. Boston holds a 3-2 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals with Game 6 and if necessary Game 7 scheduled at Fenway for Wednesday and Thursday nights. The Red Sox won championships in 2004 and again in 2007. But they haven't won the deciding game of a World Series at Fenway Park since 1918, when Babe Ruth still wore the Boston uniform. Police plan to put extra patrols on duty to guard against any unruly celebrations. City officials are urging fans to take public transportation to and from the city and are imposing parking restrictions, including in the Kenmore Square/Fenway areas, and around Northeastern University, Faneuil Hall and North Station.
