BOSTON (AP) _ Boston police have released several images of five people suspected of attacking a mail carrier.

Police posted the images on their website hoping someone will recognize the suspects.

Police say the postal worker was delivering mail Tuesday afternoon in the city's Dorchester neighborhood when he was assaulted. He described his attackers as a four young men and a young woman.

A postal service spokesman says the mail carrier spotted the suspects taking a package off a porch and told them to put it back. The suspects punched the worker, knocking him to the ground and breaking his glasses. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution, but was not seriously hurt.

Assaulting a postal worker is a federal crime that carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
