Boston Mayor Visits New Bedford Friday

The City of New Bedford is hosting an important political figure on Friday. Thomas Menino, the five term Mayor of Boston, will be in New Bedford Friday morning at the invitation of Mayor Jon Mitchell.

According to the Mayor's office, Menino will start his visit at 10am at "The Bay" on North Water Street, a retail clothing store that features the Joseph Abboud Factory Outlet. After that, the Mayors will check out the Route 18 Improvement Project, starting at Elm St. and heading south.

Menino and Mitchell will then tour the UMass Dartmouth College of Visual and Performing Arts at the Star Store building on Union St. Just before 12 Noon, the Mayors are scheduled to have a private lunch at Cafe Belena before returning to their respective City Halls.
