Boston Globe Up For Sale
The “Boston Globe” is going up for sale. The New York Times Company is putting its New England news division that includes the “Globe” on the market, though a deal isn’t imminent. The publishing giant has been working for months to offload assets not associated with the Times brand due to a struggling advertising market.
Experts say that the newspaper giant could get around $150 million. The New York Times originally bought the paper back in 1993 for $1.1 billion. The New York Times spokesman says that they are trying to offload the Globe while they try to become a global information source, and the Boston ‘Globe is a distraction’.
