Body Found In Taunton River

The body of a Taunton man was found in the Taunton River. According to the Bristol County DA's office, boaters traveling near the Taunton Municipal Lighting plant discovered the body of a man floating in the water.

Taunton rescue personnel were able to recover the body near a boat ramp at O'Keefe and Water streets. The victim is identified as 48 year old Jospeh Ferreira of Taunton.

An investigation into the cause of Ferreira's death is underway and the medical examiner is performing an autopsy on the body.
