Andrea Bocelli is known for his beautiful gift of singing Opera. However, did you know that his family has been making wine for more than 100 years?

Wine Enthusiast Magazine is celebrating the pairing of wine and music by dedicating the June issue to six artists who make both. One of these artists is Andrea Bocelli who is co-owner of Bocelli Family Wines.

Since Andrea's grandfather, Alcide Bocelli, started making wine on the farm, Andrea and his younger brother Alberto learned to "fill their family table with farm-fresh food, classic Tuscan red wine, and yes, music. The whole family enjoys singing, laughing, and sharing meals; to be at the Bocelli family table is to celebrate life," according to Bocelli Family Wines.

Therefore when asked by Wine Enthusiast if there was a connection between music and wine, Bocelli explains that "music is ultimately an expression of the human heart, and while it’s carefully composed, it’s not rational. Human beings have a visceral response to music, not a calculated one. Winemaking, I think, is also carefully composed, and it, too, creates a very powerful, uncalculated response."

I wholeheartedly agree, Andrea! Now all I need to do is find a distributor of Bocelli Family Wines in Massachusetts.
