Boat Motor Thief Eludes New Bedford Police

New Bedford Police are left scratching their heads after nearly 100 boat motors have gone missing.
Officer David Roy with the Marine Unit says over the past several months, somebody has been stealing boat motors from people’s yards, boatyards, and other places across the Southcoast.
Roy tells WBSM News whoever is taking the motors is very evasive.

Roy says the trail goes cold after the motors are stolen. There’s no sign of them being sold or shipped.
He says it’s possible the thief or thieves works for a boatyard, and is conducting deals on the side, offering big discounts.
