The boat to Block Island is set to sail again!

According to The Herald News, the Block Island Ferry will start its season on June 25, and will set off every morning at 8:30am from the State Pier at 1 Water Street in Fall River. The ferry will continue until September 5.

The trip will take just over two hours, with a stop in Newport at Perrotti Park, right across the street from the Brick Market Place.

The high-speed ferry, will accommodate up to 300 people and will be propelled by four 1,000-horsepower water jets. It can maintain speeds of up to 35 mph.

The price for tickets will be $30 each way for adults and $15 each way to Newport.  Children, ages 5 to 11, are $15 each way to Block Island and $7 per trip to Newport.  Bicycles will be $6 each way to Block Island and $3 each way to Newport.

There is parking on the dock at the State Pier. Last year, parking was $10 for the day and is payable in cash.

The ferry will depart Block Island at 5:55pm and will arrive back in Fall River at about 8:10pm.
