The process will soon begin to name a new Bishop for the Fall River Diocese.

Bishop George Coleman turns 75 on Saturday, and under church law, he must submit his letter of resignation to the Vatican.

But Communications Director John Kearns tells WBSM News, the search for a replacement will take some time, perhaps up to a year.  Kearns says till then, Bishop Coleman will continue to come to work.

Bishop Coleman has served as the religious leader of the Fall River Diocese for the past ten years.
