Bill Straus will represent the 10th Bristol District in the Massachusetts Legislature for a 12th term after Tuesday night's victory.

He says he owes his victory to the work he has done for his constituents.

Straus defeated Republican Bill Soares for the second time in two years by over 4,000 votes. Soars ran against Straus in the 2012 Democratic Primary.

Straus is also Chairman of the Mass. Transportation Committee and is hopeful to see SouthCoast Rail come to the region despite voter approval to repeal the MA Gas Tax Index.
