B&E Suspects Arrested In Acushnet
Acushnet Police arrested two people in connection with a break-in Wednesday afternoon.
Police say an officer observed a suspicious white male entering a yard on Lake St. around 2:15 p.m.
The man told the officer he was looking for a job site then abruptly left the yard and got into the passenger side of a dark grey four door Pontiac Grand-Am, which drove off.
The car was spotted moments later and pulled over.
Officers looked in the car and saw several lock boxes, pillow cases filled with items, and a 12 inch long crowbar.
About the same time an officer was approached by a resident who said his home had been broken into and several items were taken.
Those items, identified as a grey lockbox/safe, jewelry, a Kindle tablet, and pillow cases were later found in the suspect vehicle.
It was also determined that several items in the car were stolen from a home in Freetown earlier that day.
The passenger, identified as 30-year-old Robert Alton Greene, and the driver, identified as 26-year-old Caitlyn Ellen Connolly, were arrested on charges of B&E in the Daytime for Felony, Larceny from a Building, Destruction of Property +250, Conspiracy, Possession of Burglarious Instrument, and Receiving Stolen Property +250.
Greene and Connolly were scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
