A new health and science education center is on tap for Bristol Community College in Fall River.  Officials broke ground on Friday for the new $27 million facility, to be powered by solar panels and other renewable sources.

BCC President John Sbrega tells WBSM News, the College is also conducting a fund-raising campaign to equip the building with state of the art technology. Sbrega says so far, Bristol County Savings Bank, BayCoast Bank, Mechanics Co-operative Bank and a private foundation have contributed a total of $1.4 million....

Sbrega says the new facility will provide more space for the College's nursing, dental hygiene and science students. The Health and Science Center will be named for President Sbrega and is expected to be completed by December of 2015.

BCC will also receive another $19 million for repairs to other buildings on campus.
