Bank 5 Branch Robbed

New Bedford Police are investigating after a Thursday morning robbery of the Bank 5 branch located at Rivet Street and County St.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says a man walked into the bank around 10 a.m. and claimed to have a firearm, although no weapon was shown.

The suspect then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

He is described as a short white male in his 20’s wearing a black jacket and a black hat.
